Inika Organic Makeup Brand

As a new customer of natural, organic and halal makeup brands, it is only fair I write a quick review on them.  Inika organic has become my favourite organic and vegan makeup brand.  I’m not known for wearing heavy makeup on a daily basis.  My skincare regime consists of a cleanser, toner, moisturiser and an under eye concealer.  I sincerely believe in the phrase ‘less is more’ and tend to apply it to everyday life.

Organic Halal Makeup – Inika

The brand was a quick buy. I had a wedding to attend and as I don’t currently own much makeup, I started doing research on what was out there, organic and plant based.  I had never heard of Inika Organic before, I didn’t know anyone who used their products and I wasn’t sure how my skin would react to the products.  But I went for them anyway.  When I first purchased the products, I was a bit nervous. The first time I used the product was on the day of the wedding reception.  Looking back, I’m not sure if that was a good idea because any reaction to them would have ruined my day.  Fortunately nothing of that sort happened.

Being a makeup novice, I wasn’t sure what I was doing. I did watch a couple of you tube videos to know when to apply each product.  I have to admit, wearing makeup nowadays is no easy task.  With primers, bb creams, fillers, bronzers etc, you need to know what you’re doing.  Following a step by step guide on you tube, I managed to do it quite well.

Verdict on the products?  I like the brand.  I wore the make up at 9am, travelled for 3 hours to the wedding reception, didn’t do a touch up and came back home almost 12 hours later with most of it intact.

I’ve previously used products that feel cakey or dry on the face, this time I couldn’t feel the make up on my face and I found that I didn’t need to apply too much to get good coverage either.  The product seems to have really suited my skin.

The Cost

The brand is not the cheapest, but given it’s credentials of being natural, organic, plant based, it has a lot to offer.  For example, a 30ml liquid mineral foundation will set you back £33, basically £5 more than the 30ml pro longwear foundation by MAC Cosmetics and £1 more than the longwear weightless foundation by Bobby Brown.  So you’re not really paying much more for a product that is more natural than the traditional foundations out there.

Inika organic offer small trial kits for you to buy before you decide to make the bigger purchase. If you are interested in trialling the makeup brand, you can purchase them directly or through cosmetic websites such as LoveLula. I prefer purchasing from specialist websites because they offer a range of other brands and products that I could buy in one go. Such websites often offer discounts and free shipping which makes the entire purchase much cheaper. Simply visit the Lovelula website and type Inika in the search bar. This will bring up all of the products and any special offers available at Lovelula.

Why did I Choose Inika Organic?

There are several natural based products out there, but Inika seems to have hit a further of my ‘wish lists’.  Inika Organic, an Australian based cosmetics company, advertises their certifications on the website.  They have certifications for being organic, vegan, cruelty free and a further of my personal ‘wish lists’, they carry the halal certification mark.  Whilst I tend to cast an eye on the ingredients list, I find it quicker to decide if the products already have certification logos for ease of identification.  So all in all, if you are looking for a makeup brand that is natural, organic, plant based and halal, give it a try.  If you are looking for brands that are organic, plant based, but they don’t necessarily have a halal certification, check out LoveLula’s range of natural and organic makeup that is currently available on the market.
