A garden dome igloo can be your perfect spot this summer for relaxing in the garden. Have you ever wanted a conservatory but could not afford one? The garden dome igloo is a cheaper alternative option and ideal for relaxing or glamping in the garden this summer.
The year 2020 is a time when none of us will be able to freely enjoy the summer. Holidays abroad, camping and even forest holidays are out of the question for the near future. Therefore, why not bring rest and relaxation into our home while we wait for the pandemic to taper off? This is where garden dome igloos and other alternatives come in handy. Below are 2 options for you to choose from when you are shopping for an new addition to your garden.
A Garden Dome Igloo Perfect for Relaxing in the Garden
A garden if used effectively has multiple functions to help us with our daily life. A garden should not become just a place about working. It should also be a place of having fun, but also about relaxation and tranquillity. Therefore make a dedicated spot in the garden where you can rejuvenate your senses and soothe yourself.
You can create an ambient place by adding pieces of natural furniture or having a dedicated area with a garden dome igloo or a pavillion to give you a spot to relax.
The Garden Dome Igloo
The dome that is available on Amazon has a 107-foot base area and a height of approximately 7′ 2″. The garden dome igloo is large enough for you to stand up inside. The design allows air to flow across the igloo to maintain an even internal temperature.
Information from the Amazon Website – Diameter: 11′ 9″, Max. Height: 7′ 2″, Volume: 565 ft³, Base Area: 107 ft², Window Vents: 2
According to the information, it should take about 2 hours to assemble, but I would be more realistic and give it half a day. So be prepared and patient when you start to put the garden dome igloo together.
How to use the Garden Dome Igloo
Unlike a conservatory, the garden dome igloo is not attached to the side of your house. Therefore, when it arrives you can fit it in a spot that suits you perfectly . I can think of numerous uses for the garden dome igloo:
- Use it to glamp out
- Make it your conservatory
- Let it be a playhouse for children
- It can be your place of yoga and meditation
- Use it as a greenhouse
- Place a couple of comfortable and natural pieces of furniture and use it to read, sip your coffee or take an afternoon nap.
What are the benefits of a garden dome igloo?
The biggest benefit of an outdoor special place is that you will spend more time in the garden. It will be a place of tranquillity. It will help you relax and be a great addition to your garden.
Have you ever been to the Eden Project in Cornwall? The Eden Dome transfers you into a completely different world when you are inside the dome. You can personalise the garden dome igloo so that it gives you the peace and tranquillity you want.
On the other hand, it is a great place for kids to play. They can use it for their own space which then gives you space to relax inside the home.
What are the Alternatives?
If you are not a fan of enclosed spaces, do not worry, there is an alternative option to the garden dome igloo. Instead of a dome, you can install an earthy and natural pavillion, such as the one available from Amazon. The natural pavillion in the image below is by Rowlinson and it is 9’ x 9’. Although it is pricier than the garden dome igloos, it will give you the tranquillity you want from your garden.
Fortunately, both options are a one off investment, which you will enjoy for many summers ahead.
Health, Wealth & the Environment
This year will be tough for everyone so bringing a little bit of tranquillity and luxury to keep us happy at home is important for our health and wellbeing. We all know that spending time in the outdoors has a soothing effect on our mental health and wellbeing.
A dedicated outdoor space will help you spend more time outside. Whether you are reading, meditating early in the morning or simply sipping coffee in the afternoon, the investment will be worth it. On the other hand, if you feel you will buy it but not use it, then do not bother, because it is a big investment.
*The garden dome igloo on Amazon is currently priced at £849. The natural pavilion is priced at £1414.99
According to the manufacturer, the dome is made of PVC. The transparent cover should last for a minimum of 2 years. Although the website states that the PVC is recyclable, you will need to check with your local recycling service as the PVC cover is not easily recyclable everywhere. Therefore, in most cases it will either need to be disposed in general waste or reused in the garden. It is wind resistant up to 62 km/h, therefore when you are siting it, bear winter conditions in mind.
The alternative to the garden dome igloo is the stylish and earthy natural pavillion which is made from wood, therefore it will last many years and recyclable when you are ready to replace it.
Natural Furniture Options
If you are looking for stylish, earthy and natural pieces of furniture for your garden, look into bamboo and wood based furniture.
