How to make your sensory playdough with essential oil
1: In a saucepan add the flour, salt and cream of tartar. Mix it all together.
2: Add water and coconut oil. Stir it well
3: Then turn your stove burner onto low and stir the mixture.
4: Add the 2 drops of food colouring and keep stirring.
5: Turn up the heat and keep stirring so that the mixture does not stick to the saucepan. The mixture will start to thicken like dough. It should not take more than 2 to 3 minutes for the playdough to form. You will know it is ready when the dough comes away from the sides of the pan and is no longer moist.

One of my favourite essential oil DIY homemade recipes is making my own luxury bath or shower melts. I like making them because it is an activity I can do with my daughter. Making luxury bath melts with essential oil takes less than 30 minutes and it is a great way to get young children involved in a creative activity.

1: Gently melt the cocoa butter in a bowl.
2: Add the baking soda to the bowl.
3: Add your food colouring and essential oi when the butter is luke warm. Keep mixing the paste.
4: Place the mixture into the silicone mold tray and allow it to harden in the fridge.
5: The bath melts should be ready to use in about an hour.
6: Place them in the fridge in an air tight container. The essential oil DIY bath melts should last a couple of months.
The cocoa butter in the bath melts could make your shower or bathtub slippery, therefore exercise caution when using them.
Tip: If you do not have cocoa butter, try the recipe using coconut oil. However, coconut oil does melt very quickly at room temperature. Keep them refrigerated and only take them out before you shower or take a bath.
